What You Should Know About CEREC Dental Crowns

A beautiful, confident smile is what every person strives for. In some cases, that is not always possible without the help of crowns, veneers and other dental treatments. We want to help make the dream of having a beautiful, vibrant smile, a reality.

We use a lot of great technology and services that allow us to provide our patients with amazing results in minimal time. One specific service we provide is the “one-visit dental crowns” or CEREC crowns.

What are CEREC Crowns?

First off, let’s cover the basics of a crown. A crown is a tooth-shaped cap that’s placed over the tooth to restore its shape and size, strength, or improve its appearance. If you have a weakened tooth, a crown may be needed to protect it from breaking or to hold together the cracked tooth.

CEREC crowns provide a beautiful looking tooth in just one single visit. This is why we call them, one-visit dental crowns. In the course of one visit, we are able to diagnose and prepare the damaged tooth, create an optical impression of the tooth, and use our state-of-art CEREC machine to design your restoration. CEREC crowns are metal-free, and can help to preserve a healthy, natural tooth structure.

How Does the CEREC Technology Work?

We have a high-tech, CEREC machine in the office that provides us with the technology to create strong, customized, tooth-colored ceramic crowns for your teeth, in one single appointment. The CEREC crowns look and feel like your real teeth with their enamel-like material. They are permanently bonded to your teeth with no discomfort and no wait, perfect for someone who is always on-the-go!

What Are the Benefits of CEREC Crowns?

In addition to the convenience of one-visit dental crowns, CEREC crowns look and feel like your teeth. Unlike the porcelain fused to metal crowns, these are metal free. In a porcelain-fused metal crown, the metal limits the translucency and can sometimes show through as a dark line, especially around the gum line. In addition, they promote a healthy, natural tooth structure and gum line.

Are CEREC Crowns Covered by Insurance?

Some dental insurance providers may cover the full cost of the CEREC crowns, but in most cases, they are not covered 100% by your dental insurance. Since there are so many different options and levels of coverage out there, it is important that you talk to your dental insurance provider about your coverage options when it comes to CEREC crowns. And for individuals without insurance, we offer a dental savings plan.

We know how confident you can feel when you feel good about your smile, and that is why we are happy to provide this CEREC service to you in our office.
