Identafi is a new unique product that specializes in the early detection of oral cancer or premalignant dysplasia that would normally not be visible to the naked eye. Identafi is paving the way for oral cancer screenings and providing an 80 to 90% survival rate due to early detection.
How It Works
This one of a kind product uses 3 different wavelengths of light to excite oral tissue in unique and distinct ways.
White light: Used to examine the entire oral cavity including the upper portion of the mouth, inner contour of the teeth, lower portion of the mouth, the tongue, hard and soft palate, and the pharynx
Violet light: Next the instrument is switched to the “Fluorescent Violet Light” which is used to identify any abnormal tissue growth that could be benign or cancerous
Green-Amber light: To wrap up the oral screening the instrument is switched to the “Green-Amber Reflectance Light” which examines the blood vessels around any lesions making sure there aren’t any areas with increased diffused vasculature (these areas are more likely to be cancerous)
